Registration conditions and participation rules

I. REGISTRATION CONDITIONS DEFINITION The "La Québécoise" and "La Montréalaise" events organized by GestionCyclo Sportive Québec are officially named the Cyclosquébécoises. These two cyclosportiverides* sanctioned by the FQSC (Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes), are part of the Série des Défis Cyclosportifs du Québec and are of the Grande Classique type. In addition to the rules and regulations defined by the ride organizer (described below), the rules for entry applying to La Québécoise and La Montréalaise are those defined in the FQSC's Règlement de sécurité en cyclosportive ("cyclosportive safety regulations," text in French). Each event features twocourses with different distances and distinct characteristics. *Cyclosportive: A mass-start cycling ride, open to all, which differs from arace in that the objective does not emphasize the competitive aspect. Riders follow a route on a road circuit (pre-established, secured and marked) and their times are recorded, for information purposes only. 1. To enter, cyclists must be at least 18 years of age as of December 31, 2014 (Born before January 1997) 2. Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be transferred to another person. 3. Entrants will not be refunded in case of disqualification. 4. Each rider must choose the course he wishes to ride at the time of registration. Advice will be made available on the website cyclosquebecoises.com to allow riders to make a wise and informed choice based on individual level and ability as well as the time constraints for each course. 5. Each entrant must also choose to ride in one of the speed groups suggested at the time of registration. Riders are responsible for choosing the speed group appropriate to their level of practice and abilities. For each course, two or three speed groups will be proposed: "L'Échappée": For cyclists riding at an average speed of 35km/h and more. This group will be only available for the long course of each event. No stops at the feed stations. Riders will be escorted and the course will be secured by the police. This group will be limited at 200 riders and the speed will be managed to insure safe riding conditions at all time for the cyclists as well as the other road users (cars). Any rider who ends up outside one of the speed groups must ride in a safe manner and obey the Highway Safety Code "Le Peloton and Le Gruppetto": Differentspeed groups are proposedand each will be supervised in a safe manner according to the average speed established for each group.For supervision and safety reasons, all cyclists riding in a supervised speed group must stop at each feed station set up by the organizers. Any rider who ends up outside one of the speed groups must ride in a safe manner and obey the Highway Safety Code 6. The speed averages of the groups are managed to insure the safety of all riders. INSURANCES 1. Each entrant is responsible for ensuring s/he is in sufficiently good physical condition to take part, and for verifying that s/he is covered by the required civil liability and accident insurance. a. Canadian entrants will be covered by the FQSC, either via their Cyclisme pour tous / Routesection licence, or by the event licence provided by the ride organizer. b. Entrants from outside Canada (non-Canadian) must have insurance through their respective cycling federations, or personal insurance. Each rider taking part in the Cyclosquébécoisesmustbe fully cognizant of the fact that such events involve a degree of risk. GestionCyclo Sportive Québec and its officials will assume no liability for any loss/damages, injury or accident caused by an entrant. II. PARTICIPATION RULES 1. Each entrant must, before starting the ride, sign the Rider Participation Rules containing the regulations specific to the event he or she is participating in. 2. Marshals on bikes and motorcycles will be provided by the organizers to ensure compliance with the rules established for the event as well as regulate the speed of the pelotons. For the various speed groups, police officers will oversee safety (intersections, stop lights and signs, yielding the right of way, etc.). Individual riders, however, must take responsibility for themselves and remain alert at all times to what is happening on the course. 3. Any rider who ends up outside one of the speed groups must ride in a safe manner and obey the Highway Safety Code 4. The end-of-ride vehicle ("broom wagon") will trail the ride on each course at a minimum speed established by the organizer, to be communicated to riders at the time of registration. Any entrant or group of entrants passed by this vehicle will be declared as having missed the time limit. From that point on, stragglers will be permitted to ride to the finish line on their own, in unprotected conditions and under their sole responsibility; they must obey the Highway Safety Code and will not be credited with an official time. 5. In the supervised groups, ridersmust obey the centre line rule; i.e., ride in the right-hand lane. 6. An entrant who has registered for a specific course who decides to change courses before or during the event will not be included in the official results. 7. Any entrant who violates the above rules will be disqualified and excluded from the event. EQUIPMENT 1. Each rider must wear ahelmet compliant with the standards in effect. 2. Only road bikes in good running condition are accepted 3. Disc wheels, triathlon handlebars are not permitted. IDENTIFICATION OF RIDERS: 1. The wristband supplied with your rider packet must be worn at all times during the event. You will need it to access the various facilities and services provided, and you will be asked to show it at all checkpoints. 2. You must wear your bib number on the course. 3. Your handlebar number must be affixed to your bike before, during and after the ride. 4. You are strongly advised to wear the official Cyclosquébécoises jersey for purposes of identification along the course. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE 1. First-aid and ambulance teams will be part of the caravan on each course, ready to provide medical assistance. 2. Medical assistance teams will also be present at the main feed stations. 3. Any entrant who is seriously injured will be transported by ambulance to hospital or to a CLSC (local clinic) depending on the seriousness of the injury. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE 1. Technical assistance will be available near the start line. 2. Along the courses, assistance teams will be present at selected feed stations, and there will also be mobile teams. Note that this service will be provided to correct minor problems (e.g., puncture, adjustment), not to effect major mechanical repairs. FEED STATIONS 1. Each course will include feed stations (approximately every 40–50 km all along the course). 2. Refreshments, water and food will be available at each station, with basic technical and medical assistance service offered at selected stations. PACKET PICKUP All the details : dates, schedules and places will follow by e-mail Note : To pick-up your packet, you have two options: - Arrive in person with your registration confirmation and photo ID, as well as your FQSC licence if you have one. - Have someone else pick up your packet for you; they must have with them yourregistration confirmation and a copy of your photo ID, as well as a copy of your FQSC licence if you have one. TIMING 1. Each rider will be timed individually in real time (the timer will be triggered automatically when the rider passes the start line). 2. Results will be valid only if the rider passes the mandatory checkpoints: start, intermediate point(s) and finish line. 3. The ride results will be available in the website A symbolic prize ceremony will be held on the official podium after the finish. CERTIFICATE Certificates will be available for download from the website for all riders with validated results. ENVIRONMENT All littering and environmentally disrespectful behaviour, e.g., discarding of gel pouches, energy bar wrappers, other packaging, etc., is forbidden and can result in disqualification from the event. IMAGE RIGHTS By accepting these participation rules, all entrants grant to GestionCyclo Sportive Québec and all media covering the events the right to use their image in the form of photographs or video sequences taken during the events, for use in all forms of promotion and broadcasting of the events (e.g., films, videos, photos, newspapers, Web, television coverage).

Release of liability, Waiver of claims and participation agreement

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THESE EVENTS (DESIGNATED INDIVIDUALLY AS AN "EVENT") ORGANIZED BY GESTION CYCLO SPORTIVE QUÉBEC AND ITS AFFILIATE COMPANIES ARE REQUIRED, AS A CONDITION OF EVENT PARTICIPATION, TO AGREE TO REGISTRATION CONDITIONS AND PARTICIPATION RULES AND ASSUME ALL RISK OF PARTICIPATION BY SIGNING BELOW. THIS AGREEMENT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS OF RECOVERY SHOULD YOU BE INJURED DURING THE EVENT. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY. The undersigned entrant ("Entrant"), in his/her name and on behalf of his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, executors and successors, hereby fully and forever releases, waives and discharges Gestion Cyclo Sportive Québec, the hose city(ies), region and country, the Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes, any and all municipal agencies whose property and/or personnel are used or in any way assist in the event, all sponsoring or co-sponsoring companies or individuals related to the event, as well as all charity organizations associated it, together with their officers, directors, shareholders, successors and assigns (collectively, "Releasees") from all liability to the Entrant and his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, executors and successors and his/her personal representatives, assigns, heirs, executors, and successors for any and all loss(es), damage(s) and any and all claims or demands therefore, on account of injury to Entrant, whether caused by the active or passive negligence of all or any of the Releasees or otherwise, in connection with Entrant's participation in the Event ("Loss") and in other subsequent entries, and covenants not to sue any of the above-mentioned parties in case of such Loss. Entrant is fully aware of the risks and hazards inherent in participating in the Event and hereby elects to voluntarily participate, knowing the risks associated with the Event. Entrant hereby assumes all risks of loss(es), damage(s), or injury(ies) that may be sustained by him/her while participating in the Event. Entrant represents and warrants to Releasees that he/she is in good physical condition and is able to safely participate in the Event. By accepting the registration conditions and participation rules, Entrant agrees to the use of his/her image by Gestion Cyclo Sportive Québec and all media covering its events in the form of photographs or video sequences taken during the events, for use in all forms of promotion and broadcasting of the event (e.g., films, videos, photos, newspapers, Web, television coverage). Entrant acknowledges that the entry fee paid is non-refundable and non-transferable. Entrant acknowledges that, in case of force majeure or other occurrences beyond its control, Gestion Cyclo Sportive Québec may delay or cancel the Event. In case of such delay or cancellation, there shall be no refund of the entry fee or any other costs of Entrant in connection with the Event. Entrant warrants that all statements made herein are true and correct and understands that Releasees have relied on them in allowing Entrant to participate in the. ENTRANT HAS READ THE FOREGOING AND INTENTIONALLY AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THIS GENERAL RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT.
